KandL is Keith and Lee White, a Bendigo, Victoria-based duo who perform at functions of every imaginable kind and record albums of both covers and original music. They have a wealth of experience in music performance covering five decades, including everything from nursery rhymes to hard rock! Lee's background in musical theatre provides an element of comedy and drama to their performances, while Keith's experience with bands of all kinds over many years allows them to take on any project or song and do it well. This experience includes a grounding in ballroom dance music in the very early days, followed by many years of pop/rock cover bands from the early 60s to 1980. During this time, he shared the stage with many of New Zealand's top performers, and even backed the great John Farnham when he toured New Zealand - he was still Johnny then! He was in two touring bands at the end of the seventies. Following this, Keith became involved in the church and was music director in various churches, including Melbourne's biggest church, now called CityLife, for about fifteen years. He was involved in large scale events, the production of four CDs, and extensive travel in Australia, New Zealand, PNG, India, Cambodia, Hong Kong and USA to perform and teach church music teams. He also began song writing in earnest and contributed many songs to the albums he produced. He moved from Melbourne to Brisbane in 2003 where, while still involving himself in church music, he formed a friendship with guitar virtuoso Wes Taylor. This saw him involved in many performance with Wes and Movie World, Sea World and various other venues around Southeast Queensland. Since moving back to Victoria from Brisbane, Keith began playing with the local blues artists and solo gigs.
Lee has always been wildly enthusiastic about music - singing in particular - and performed in choirs as a young girl. Her greatest musical passion was the soul music that found its way from the USA to the UK and Manchester, where Lee was born. She would go to the clubs where famous names were performing and spend hours inhaling the music. Family life and moving around dictated what she was able to do musically when she moved to Australia, but eventually she began to realise her dreams by singing in a WA-based band and also performing in musical productions with a local dramatic society.
When Keith and Lee met, there was an instant recognition of each other's ability and musical passion that led, eventually, to the forming of KandL - and marriage, but that's another story. They have become very active with local country music gatherings as well as performing a variety of music at various venues. Lee often wrote songs in her younger days, but had no outlet for her talent. Since joining forces with Keith, she has become a driving force with her excellent flair for melody and lyrics, while Keith has an inbuilt sense of how to interpret her output (which is prodigious, even at 3:00am!). The combining of their abilities has produced some really good songs, several of them now finding airplay on local radio.
With four albums of original music to date, they are accomplished and imaginative songwriters in many styles of music. Their albums are listed on this site, and some sound clips are added here for you to listen to.
They are an ideal choice for weddings, birthdays, corporate functions, rock n' roll parties and just about anything you can think of. In addition to this, their passion for the elderly has seen them carve out a niche performing several times each month at the many local aged care facilities and retirement villages.
Because music, performing and spreading their own enthusiasm and happiness is what motivated them more than anything else, the cost of hiring them for your function is not exorbitant in comparison with many artists.
Yet another string to KandL's bow is the ability to teach what they have learned themselves. Lessons are available for guitar, music theory, song writing and other skills. They can also write and record songs for those special occasions that need something brand new.
A little word about our name..... it's pronounced "Candle", just like the ones on a birthday cake, and it's an abbreviation of "Keith and Lee". Neat, huh? We have heard all sorts of pronunciations over the last few years, so there's a nice clear explanation. We also throw out a little hint with our candle logo on our business cards and other places.
Have you heard or met KandL somewhere recently? We'd love to hear what you think! Leave your review below....

On behalf of Maiden Gully Progress Association, I would like to thank you for entertaining the audience so professionally at our Annual Christmas Carols held on Dec 2nd 2018.
Without your continued support we would not be able to run such an event.
The Carols were very successful with approximately 800 members of the community in attendance.
The Maiden Gully Progress Association members wish you a Merry Christmas and a safe and prosperous New Year and hope for you continued support in 2019.
Yours faithfully,
Carol Clark

Thank you once again for a wonderful day with your entertainment. I have been asked to write a small article for our Village newsletter, and would appreciate some of the photos you took to put with it. Kind regards, Coral.
I have booked Lee and Keith (KandL) for several functions. These functions were for very different purposes; consequently, the audiences varied greatly in their age and taste in music. Lee and Keith were able to adapt brilliantly and always succeeded in entertaining everyone with their beautiful music. In addition they also coped with the occasional guest that likes to “sing along” with professionalism and good humour.
Thank you both so much for “The Good Times”.

We were excited to have KandL at our function where a wide variety of music was played to suit all age groups. Keith and Lee are professional in all dealings with them, while at the same time very approachable and friendly. They work into any timetable and happily accommodate changes and anything else that comes up on the night.
This is my second time hearing KandL and they are addictive - you cannot help but get out of your seat and dance! Not to forget their CD's - affordable and great for in the car or any other time, not as good as live KandL, but great to sing along to.
